Facial fat transfer, also referred to as fat grafting or autologous fat transfer, is a cosmetic procedure in which additional facial volume and the bettering of contours are striven for.
Here's how it works:
Harvesting: The fat is taken from other parts of your body, mostly from the abdomen, thighs, and flanks. This is done through a process of liposuction, where fat is sucked out via a small tube in a minimally invasive procedure.
Processing: The fat is then processed to separate the fat cells from other components, such as blood and fluids. This step ensures that only viable fat cells are used for the transfer.
Injection: The purified fat is then cautiously injected into specific areas of the face where volume is desired. This could be areas like the cheeks, under the eyes, or around the jawline.
Recovery: The procedure is followed by some degree of swelling and bruising at the donor and recipient sites; these, however, clear up in a few weeks. The body absorbs a certain amount of the injected fat, but a portion integrates into the facial tissue and thus offers long-term results.
Facial fat transfer mainly targets the following points: to restore the volume that is lost, smooth out wrinkles, and bring out facial contours. This is said to be rather natural as it deals with taking your own fat; this hence reduces the chances of an allergic reaction or rejections of some kind.

The Lipofilling procedure typically involves two main stages: liposuction to harvest fat from the patient's body, usually from the abdomen or thighs, and then injecting this fat into the desired areas.
Lipofilling is commonly used to address volume loss or contour irregularities in areas such as the face, lips, breasts, buttocks, hands, and other body regions.
Lipofilling results can vary from person to person, but they generally provide long-lasting outcomes. Some of the transferred fat may not survive, so final results may stabilize over a few months.
Lipofilling is typically performed under local anesthesia or sedation, so it is often associated with minimal pain. However, mild discomfort, swelling, and bruising may be experienced in the days following the procedure.
The recovery process varies depending on the individual's overall health and the areas treated. Mild discomfort may be present for a few days, and full recovery may take several weeks.
